TATSUYA YOSHIDA x RISA TAKEDA Classical & Progressive Hardcore Jazz Improvisation Duo

OBS! OBS! Endret tidspunkt på grunn av kræsj med EM-finalen i fotball, som mange ønsker å få med seg! Dørene åpner kl. 18:00. Konsertstart kl. 18:30.

This is Tokyo's most notable improv duo at the moment. Tatsuya Yoshida, the strongest drummer in the avant-prog scene, and Risa Takeda, the keyboardist who is currently attracting the most attention in Tokyo's improv scene, will be touring together in Europe for the first time. An unparalleled worldview brought about by thrilling antagonism and harmony unfolding at high speed. The highly structured and highly improvised performance, which freely moves between classical, contemporary music, progressive rock, and jazz rock, overwhelms the audience with the sound pressure of the band, even though it is performed by only two people.

TATSUYA YOSHIDA is a Japanese musician; drummer and composer who is the only consistent member of the renowned progressive rock duo Ruins, as well as of Koenji Hyakkei. He has also played in/with Korekyojinn, Daimonji, YBO2, Zeni Geva, Painkiller, Samla Mammas Manna and various permuations of Acid Mothers Temple and its offshoots, in addition to collaborating with pretty much anyone of note in the known universe. No wonder he has been called the indisputable master drummer of the Japanese underground.

RISA TAKEDA started playing classical piano at age 3. She was active as drummer while at University. She moved to Tokyo in April 2011, and while playing with various bands, began solo performances in 2016. Improvisations, compositions with visuals and piano arrangements of Frank Zappa’s material have brought her worldwide recognition. Her music is full of complex melodies, harmonies, rhythms, and sequences of sounds, which are freely realized by the ensemble, but with great precision. She has performed live with Akira Sakata, Tatsuya Yoshida, Seiichi Yamamoto, Tadahiko Yokogawa, Keiichi Suzuki, and Mani Neumeier (Guru Guru), further expanding the scope of her activities.
